John E. Wolfsberg
Managing Principal, Chief Financial Officer and Director of Fixed Income
John E. Wolfsberg
John brings more than three decades of distinguished experience in trading, portfolio management, and institutional investing to his leadership at Centerpoint Advisors. Having begun his career in public accounting, where he supported private companies and those preparing for public offerings, John developed a rigorous foundation in analysis, transparency, and accountability. His professional journey led him to Bear Stearns in 1994, where he worked in fixed income sales covering institutional clients—including state funds, insurance companies, and national money managers overseeing portfolios in excess of $10 billion. This breadth of experience instilled in him both technical mastery and a profound appreciation for disciplined, long-term portfolio construction.
Working at Centerpoint:
As Chief Financial Officer and Director of Fixed Income at Centerpoint Advisors, John has translated this institutional expertise into a thoughtful, family-focused approach. He works closely with high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational families, foundations, and qualified plans, tailoring bond portfolios that balance opportunity with prudence. His background in tax and accounting further enhances his ability to design portfolios that are both financially sound and sensitive to the nuanced needs of each client’s circumstances. John recognizes that financial decisions are not merely technical—they carry emotional weight, shaping a family’s legacy, security, and peace of mind. His philosophy is rooted in stewardship: ensuring that each portfolio he builds honors the unique goals, values, and aspirations of the families and individuals he serves. Above all, John views his role as a privilege: to walk alongside families as they make critical financial decisions, to safeguard their wealth, and to help transform their aspirations into enduring legacies.
Background:
John graduated cum laude from Stonehill College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and earned his CPA designation shortly thereafter. He also holds a certificate in Executive Education from Harvard Business School. Beyond his professional endeavors, John remains deeply engaged in both education and community service: he serves on Stonehill College’s Visiting Business Committee and contributes his financial acumen as a board member of Easton’s Natural Resource Trust (NRT), ensuring the preservation of local resources for future generations.
John’s commitment extends beyond financial stewardship. A former U.S. Army Captain, he carries forward the values of discipline, service, and integrity into every client relationship. He is Series 65 licensed through FINRA, enabling him to serve as a trusted Investment Advisor Representative through Centerpoint Advisors.
